Wow, why has it become so hard to blog?? Oh yeah, 2 parents who work opposite shifts and 3 almost 22 month old boys. Where can I even start with the boys...everyday they amaze me with what they understand and can comprehend and repeat back. Cinnamon bun was a recent shocker by Gage! We took the boys to Chuck E. Cheese Saturday and we had a blast. They boys liked riding the stuff and just looking around. It has rained the past week so it was nice to be able to get out.

My funny guys
The boys are quite the comediens, and the saying monkey see monkey do is how they do things. They seem to already have great imaginations and all it takes is one to decide to do something and everyone wants to do it.
Whether it is tipping a toy upside down and covering it with a blanket and pushing it all over the house, or grabbing a receiving blanket and wearing it as a cape or over the head like a ghost, the 3 of them are always chasing each other around. They are a constant blur of activity, and we couldn't be happier.
A few weeks ago we were on vacation and during the week we went out to dinner, fantasy island, zoo and the beach. Then we had a nice get together on Labor day at our house. In the midst of all that Rick primed and then painted our new shed/barn. We really had a great week and took lots of video with our new flash media video camera.
The boys are saying alot of new words, and for awhile now they have been pointing out all their body parts and now they are trying to say the body parts too. They know to name all their clothes, shoes, hat, etc. The way they talk to each other or us is very funny. They generally get real quiet when we re out and someone tries to talk to them and they are very quiet. But at home they are all over and have so much to say.
Gage has learned to climb out of his crib so he has been climbing over into Caleb's crib. A few times he went completely out and played in their room. Such a funny guy and so determined!

Backyard = Goodtimes
We have had alot of new things added to the backyard this year to keep the boys happy. I have become even more of a frequent visitor to craigslist and bought the boys playhouse, little slide and climber/slide from on there. We went to the county fair this weekend and bought a big red barn/shed, it is 2 stories and I let the boys explore the first floor today which they loved.
With all the rain this year, our tomatos have really taken a beating. But that does not stop the boys from "ball" picking everyday, and you can see they are actually so bold and walking into the garden now, Evan is the culprit in this one. He is crying because he was caught doing a no no, or uh-oh as they call it.

New words
The boys are quite chatty lately, and we LOVE it! I get such joy in hearing their sweet voices. The best new word is phone, pronounced sssone. Gage uses that alot. Hi has become another with little wave too. Gage said diaper and see today. Banana is nanaa. When I ask where daddy is they say work, pronounced bork. Ball is their all time favorite word. In the book Goodnight Moon there is a red balloon, so they all freak and stat yelling balloon, pointing to it,kissing it.
I started this post about a week ago, so some recent words (as of 8/17) are yellow, green and dinosaur! Caleb said all 3 in about a half hour and I thought I was imagining it. But this morning he repeated the words for daddy and they all can say them. Evan and Caleb say Gage and point to Gage when they say it.
Some of their favorite things right now are balls, balloons, bubbles and aiplanes. If we can get all these things going outside, it is a good day :)
The past 2 days have been ridiculously hot so we have been extra custious when taking the boys out to play. But today the cabin fever struck so we went on the back patio and the boys used chalk for the first time. All was well until they each broke their piece and freaked out because they wanted me to fix the chalk. Friday, August 7, 2009

Current Schedule

Evan,Caleb and Gage, enjoying their juice cups after a cruise around the neighborhood on a beautiful 80 degree day.
I have found that by re-reading some old posts on here, that my memory is not as good as I thought it was. So although our current schedule seems ingrained in our brains forever, I will write it down so that i do not forget. The boys are just a few days shy of 20 months, and we have been keeping this current schedule since around 15 months old.
7:15am boys up
7:45am breakfast, either oatmeal and fruit or if weekends they like scramble cheese eggs and pancakes. Every other day they get a morning bottle, 7oz of milk
8am-9:30am play time inside
9:30am walk in the choo choo wagon
10am play outside, weather permitting
10:30 am Elmo's world
11:00am lunch
11:30am play/wind down time
noon- 2 or 2:30ish nap time
2:30pm play,snack
3-4ish-walk in the choo choo wagon
4-5:15ish play outside
5:30 dinner
6-6:45 play time
6:45-7:30 bath time and play in upstairs playroom
7:30 7oz bedtime bottle
7:45 bed
This is pretty much how every day plays out. Most people think we are insane I am sure, but by having everything pre-planned just makes our days work so much better. The boys are great, happy overactive boys, but they make us smile and laugh so much, cannot imagine life any other way for all of us.
